About me

Hi! 

I’m Angelique, a 23 year old Black British artist of Ghanaian heritage. I paint mainly in oils, and I’m drawn to bright  and rich colours.

My work often begins with small things I notice, a passing thought, humour, or an object that catches my attention. I follow those ideas onto the canvas and see where they lead.

A masked character called Mango appears in some paintings, inspired by the African masks I studied at school and my connection to Ghanaian heritage.

Mostly, though, I’m simply painting whatever curiosity refuses to leave me alone.
