The Art Mat

My name is Angelique Adjepong, I am a 23 year old Black British artist of Ghanaian heritage. My medium is oil paints, and I’m drawn to bright and rich colours. My work often begins with small things I notice, a passing thought, humour, or an object that catches my attention. I follow those ideas onto the canvas and see where they lead. A masked character called Mango appears in some paintings, inspired by the African masks I studied at school and my connection to my Ghanaian heritage.
